Richard met with Patricia, Tamara, the contractor and retinue to talk about destroying things. Tamara needs to see all the load bearing beams and follow the load paths. Or sags and rot as the case may be. She made a list of what she wants removed, Patricia tweaked it, and the contractor put a quote together within two days. Communication is flowing. It feels good to have such an enthusiastic team.
Richard and I spent an hour removing (glad to see ‘em go!) mirrored ceiling tiles from one level and acoustic ceiling tiles from another level. As the female I’ve slowly fallen in love with the house, the idea of the house, the possible improvements to the house. I’m ready to settle in and get the job done. But Richard is a typical guy – shows no emotion until you get the house’s clothes off and suddenly he’s excited. He stops every few minutes to gush about the ductwork, the load bearing members, the size of the beams. Honestly, he won’t stay focused, it’s 40 degrees outside, and I just want a hot bath and fuzzy pajamas.
